June 22, 2024(1 event) Amateur Radio Field DayJune 22, 2024 Have you ever been curious about Ham Radio? The Charlottetown Amateur Radio Club (CARC) will be participating in ARRL Field Day this year. The Charlottetown Amateur Radio Club’s Field Day has been an annual event since 1933 and provides an opportunity to participate in a friendly competition against 40,000 other ham operators across North America. Field Day serves as an open house for ham radio enthusiasts, highlighting their commitment to public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical expertise It is open to the public at no cost, welcoming visitors of all ages. In addition to showcasing radio operations, there will be a number of educational activities and learning opportunities. Two teenagers from the club will be actively involved in the event, and to promote and encourage youth participation in this field of activity. Come out for a day of fun and learning at the Wood Islands Lighthouse! |
