Yardsale signs

Signs are now ready for those of you that have registered your yardsale in the annual 70 Mile Coastal Yardsale event.

All signs have been delivered for pickup at the two locations that were available, based on the choices indicated in the forms. If you can’t recall which location you picked, it will be in the email you would have received after registering. All registrations returned an email with all the data you entered on the registration form. If you didn’t see that email, be sure to check your SPAM folder.  Please proceed to the location you indicated on the form to pickup your Yardsale sign.

Yardsale Postponed

The Annual 70 mile coastal yardsale has always been a rain or shine event. However, we have all been following the local weather forecasts very closely, and many of you have been asking if the yardsale is still on given that severe storms are due to hit this weekend.

In order to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, we have decided to postpone the Yardsale one week out, on Sept 23 and 24.

The deadline for registrations has passed for being included in the Eastern Graphic insert scheduled to come out Sept 20th, and receive a sign to post at your location. However, you can still register and be included on the Yardsale Google Map. Simply fill out the Registration Form and submit your payment.

For those of you who have already registered and are waiting to pick up signs, please note that they aren’t ready for pick up yet. We will announce on Facebook and on the website when they are ready for pickup, at whatever location you chose on the form for pick up location. Stay tuned!

Music, Food and Fun!

Don’t forget to come out and join us at Wood Islands Market this Saturday, July 22 from 10am-4pm for Musicabilia!

The Musicabilia event will have a variety of vendors selling vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, audio equipment, memorabilia, and other related items upstairs in our Plough the Waves Hall. If you’re an audiophile, collector or just a music lover, this event is for you.

And that’s not all! Belfast Area Watershed Group will also be hosting a fundraising BBQ. Sherri and her BAWG team will be grilling up some good old fashioned Hot Dogs. Stop by and support this great non-profit organization even if you aren’t an audiophile.

But wait! There’s more!

We will also be selling raffle tickets to win a vintage Marantz 6300 turntable valued at $2000!

70 mile Coastal Yardsale

It’s almost here!

September 17-18th is our annual 70 mile coastal yardsale. Over a hundred vendors across the island with a variety of things for sale. More at Wood Islands Market where you can get a sausage and drink, eat at the Whistle Stop, grab some ice cream at the Sweet Factory, buy a 50/50 ticket, or a raffle ticket with our last Bertie Cook quilt as first prize. Browse the range of vendors there to find that special something you’ve been looking for.

Eastern Graphic will be publishing a map and list of vendors Sept. 14th. If you’ve registered already you can pick up your sign/balloons to mark your site at the location you chose on your registration from. They will be available for pickup Sept 12th. If you haven’t registered yet and still want to, you can! Until Sept. 16th you can still register! You won’t be listed in the newspaper, or have a sign to mark your spot, but you WILL be on the google map.

Check out our Yardsale page for links to:
* our Community Site map to locate the vendors that will be at Wood Islands Market
* the custom Google map to locate the offsite vendors distributed across Eastern PEI
* a page with instructions and how to for our Google map, if you have never used them before
* our registration page for that last minute registration

What at great way to spend a weekend to enjoy the last summer days! So many unique finds and bargains while enjoying the coastal scenery! It doesn’t matter what your interests are, you are bound to find something that will put a smile on your face without breaking the bank. This is the biggest yardsale you’ll ever see and if you love to shop, this is a must for you!

Come on out and join us! We’d love to see you!

Islander Day

February 21, 2022 Islander Day is a holiday held each year on the third Monday of February. In previous years Wood Islands Village has hosted a number of activities for our community to engage in to celebrate a day with family. While activities for this event are often outdoors as well as indoors, COVID protocol in January has prompted the cancellation of the event this year.

Wood Islands Village, and the dedicated volunteers who plan, organize and host the activities for this event are looking forward to seeing you next year on Islander Day 2023. We wish everyone a safe and healthy year!
