Hall Rental

Due to size of ‘Plough the Waves Hall” and COVID measures, our hall can provide for personal gatherings  limits are 20 people indoors from different households, while maintaining a two-metre separation. Visit Facemask for requirements 

Larger organized gatherings  are permitted to include up to 50 people outdoors from different households with:

  • An operational plan
  • Physical distancing of 2 meters maintained with individuals who are not part of one’s household
  • Limited sharing of equipment among individuals from different households and precautions taken.

If you are looking for community space to rent for meetings, special events, family gatherings, training courses or other activities, we have what you need.
 

We offer 1,000 square feet (48×22) of bright, clean, open community space –comfortable for 80 persons — available year round, and above the Visitor Information Centre at the Wood Islands Welcome Centre (formerly known as the Plough The Waves Centre).  Adjacent is a fully equipped provincially certified kitchen which can be rented as well. The centre is equipped with an elevator for people with restricted mobility or for those bringing in equipment or goods. There is a raised stage at one end of the room.  We also have:

 
    • free Wi-Fi
    • a projector on a mobile cart
    • a large pull down screen
    • high performance audio system with microphones and stands
    • bright or subtle lighting

Ours is a “scent free” facility. Maximum occupancy is 80 people.

  • 8 consecutive hours – $130
  • 4 consecutive hours – $70
  • Additional per hour rate: – $25
  • Hall set-up & reset – $30
  • Hall clean up (if deemed necessary) – $100
  • Kitchen use – $120 (includes mandatory clean up)
 
Options, if available:
  • Coffee Service – $30
  • Lunch Service –  Market price.  (Sandwich trays, sweet trays, and drinks from grocery store at a “cost plus” rate.)
 
Damage Deposit may be required.
