The PEI Tourism run Visitor Information Centre has everything you need to plan your visit. From maps to free wifi and helpful staff to answer all your questions or help you book accommodations and event tickets. Rural Municipality of Belfast
Located to the right of the Information Centre is the office of ‘RMB’ Council who has spearheaded initiatives to promote the Municipality with businesses and newcomers.
Sweet Factory
A fixture at the Village for many years, the Sweet Factory is the place to satisfy your sweet tooth. Ice cream, fudge, candy and souvenirs to appeal to every taste. Lots of locally made items and a variety of bulk candy to treat your inner child. Located just to the left of the main Visitor Centre doors.

The Whistle Stop Restaurant
Housed in a small replica train station, the Wood Islands Whistle Stop is the perfect break on your travels either for a quick nibble or a full on meal. Providing quick, friendly take out service and homestyle simple fare, The Whistle Stop is well equipped to satisfy your cravings, sweet or savory. Try our delicous signature Whistle Stop Burger, fresh hand cut fries, or our famous Pink Lemonade Pie. Come check out our selection of other fresh baked sweets, and cold or hot refreshments. We take pride in offering a variety of local products on our menu and are 80% gluten free! Be sure to check us out on Facebook.

Wood Islands Liquor Store
& Commissary
The only community run agency liquor store in Canada! All profits go to our non-profit organization to run the Wood Islands Lighthouse & Museum and the Wood Islands Village. Please make us your first choice for liquor purchases. The Commissary (in the Liquor Store) offers fresh coffee and some “provisions” you might have left behind such as BBQ supplies, campfire wood, food, books, or personal items.

Confederation Trail
Take a leisurely stroll or bike ride along a section of the Confederation Trail. What was once a railway is now an ideal stretch to do some forest bathing or sit by the pond. This portion of the trail is located next to the replica drive shed featuring an authentic baggage cart.


Wood Islands Lighthouse & Museum
The Wood Islands lighthouse (c. 1876) is one of the 63 lighthouses that dot the island. Explore the museum to see artifacts for a Keeper’s kitchen and the Ferry. Learn about rum runners, seaglass, legends, the fishing industry and more. Climb to the top if you dare, for a panoramic view that will take your breath away.

Amateur Radio
The rear Range light at the Lighthouse hosts a permanent antenna (junior and coaxial connection) for amateur radio enthusiasts.
