The 70 Mile Coastal Yard sale in South Eastern PEI : Sept 21-22, 2019  

LATE REGISTRATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED AT THE WOOD ISLANDS LIQUOR STORE SEPT 16-20TH 

The 70 mile yard sale booklet will be available at many stores and at the Provincial Credit unions in Montague, Rustico, Stratford and Charlottetown for a cost of $2.00 look for the orange boxes, by September 12th. They will be in the Eastern Graphic for only the cost of the graphic Sept 11th.

What is Here:

Home to the Wood Islands &Area Development Corporation (WIADC) – a not-for-profit community organization who owns and operates the Wood Islands Village complex and also the Wood Islands Lighthouse.

The ‘Village’ is the location of the Wood Islands Welcome Centre/PEI Visitor Information Centre (VIC). Upstairs from the VIC is the Plough The Waves Community Room which seats 100 people and has a full kitchen available for your special occasions. Next door is our Agency Liquor Store & Commissary – the prettiest liquor store on the Island. The Commissary (in the Liquor Store) offers fresh coffee and some “provisions” you might have left behind such as BBQ, campfire, food, books, or personal items.

Our Wood Islands Lighthouse, Museum, and Gift shop (on the point at the mouth of the Harbour beyond the ferry) is open for the 2019 season from 9:30 am to 6:00. Admission tickets for the museum are available for purchase until 5:30 pm. Island Crafters have been hard at work over the winter to fill our Gift shop. So, come on by and see all the wonderful items we have to offer. Also, our resident osprey have returned to the nest! There’s a great view into the nest with binoculars from the top of the lighthouse.

The PEI Visitor Information Centre  has everything you need from maps to brochures for all the local attractions. Friendly and helpful staff are always ready to help you plan your trip.

The Sweet Factory next to the VIC is open for the 2019 season. Open 7 days a week  9 am – 4:30 pm. Treat yourself to ice cream or locally made fudge! A wide range of candy, local treats and souvenirs are also available.

 Island Gold Honey retail store is on the other side of the VIC.  Open 7 days a week 9 am – 5 pm. Their store is full of honey and beeswax products perfect for enjoying yourself or giving as gifts.

This year’s 70 Mile Coastal Yard Sale is September 21 and 22, 2019. Registrations will be accepted until August 22nd, 2019. Registration Forms will be at Coopers in Eldon, The Store in Belle River, Copper Bottom in Montague and at the Wood Islands Agency Liquor Store.  For accommodations or tourist information, please call 1-800-463-4PEI (4734); they’ll walk you through your options, and they know this area very well. You’ll be in good hands.
